About Your Speaker
Craig Jurkiewicz
RVT Medical Foster Agent

Craig is a Registered Veterinary Technician and has been working with Toronto Humane Society since 2019.

He has had a passion for animals ever since leaving high school, and later received his undergraduate degree in Zoology at the University of Guelph in 2016. After university, Craig spent some time volunteering at a shelter, and he fell in love with the animal welfare industry.

He has a personal vested interested in applying fear free techniques. His dog required a lot of training and patience due to her high reactivity. In the 2+ years that he’s had her, she’s come a long way thanks to a little patience, proper handling, and using a fear free approach.

Craig finds his work extremely rewarding. He particularly enjoys educating members of the public with how Toronto Humane Society deals with animals that might require a more delicate approach when it comes to handling and medicating.
